I had collected a number of bits for my book and was enthusiastically assembling and sticking it in where I presumed it looked good.

I thought it’d be a smart idea to use some of my permanent markers that I had left over from my old art classes for the part of my album covering my art pieces. Sadly I did not think how thick the paper was and the markers leaked right through the paper and on to the photographs on the subsequent page… Superb (NOT!).

I was later carving out a picture with a scalpel when it slipped off the image and went right through 4 pages of my book. I then had to do some very creative rearrangement to cover up the tears on the page.

I’d had about enough of this book and gave up on working on it for that night.

Little did I know that the cover of the book itself was sitting in a pool of glue. If that wasn’t bad enough, this glue had set while I had the book resting on the table overnight. When I came and picked up the book in the morning it ripped off the top layer of the back cover.

Obviously, this was the point of no return. After having trouble after trouble with this album, the one thing that felt right was to salvage everything I could, and burn the rest. Let me tell you, it was terribly therapudic.
