It is hard to predict what will happen in the future. Some things that happen and cannot be foreseen are accidents. The bedroom can be a dangerous space for children. Many people do not recognize the dangers here. Most parents have had their child fall from a bed or a changing table at one point or another.

These home accidents do not normally amount to anything but the parent being very frightened. There had been stories of babies falling out of baby cribs that have been improperly assembled. There are a lot of different horror stories. It is rare but the potential for injury does exist.

Another danger to children is a loft bed or bunk beds. Although these are great space savers and give extra room they can be dangerous if not properly taken care of. Bed rails and bed guards should be placed around the bed to keep children from falling. If a child is in one of these beds make sure you place a padded bed rail to keep a child in.

Another thing that can be done to keep your child safe in this type of bed is using a full bed instead of a twin or a single. A full bed gives a child more room and makes them less likely to fall. Even a full loft bed is safer than a twin loft.

Small things can keep a child safe in bed. Rails are inexpensive and work very well. They can be added to just about any bed out there. If your child rolls a lot when they sleep this is an excellent option for your to try not matter what style of be they have.

Also a very low bed for a child might be a good idea if your child is a restless sleeper. Rolling out of bed is far more common than one might think in both children and adults. Beds that do not have a frame or low beds are available to keep a restless child from being injured. Also using caution with a child and a high bed might be a good idea.

No matter what you choose keeping your child safe should always be a priority. That means correcting problems as they turn up and making sure that there are rails on beds that you child might be injured in if they roll out. No matter what you choose be sure to take proper safety precautions.
