There are so many people out there that think that riding a bicycle is a bit like acting like you were in your early years again. Is all of this actually true or are there just people out there that like to cause a bit of an argument?
I can see their point in certain ways, some of the cycling clothing does look a bit out there and those cycling shoes look simply ridiculous on some of the people that wear them.
I have taken a look at their point and they are without doubt, wrong. It is very hard for me to understand how someone riding to work getting a nice bit of excercise and doing some good for the environment is acting like a child at all? The people that are thinking like this tend to be slightly overweight, unable to ride a bike or just arrogant. Personal opinion on this is that the people that think like this are the people that drive into work everyday whilst smoking and eating their NuggetMcZingerKingburger for the morning. I think I would rather be riding in the cold!
Other Reasons People Associate Bikes With Children
One of the other reasons this argument comes up is because many people have not been on a bike since they were in their younger years. learning to ride of bike is one of the first things your parents will teach you, many people will not remember the older days of learning to walk and talk. Many adults do not remember these times so their memory takes them straight to the training wheels on the bike.
The other possibility out there is that you fell off of one at one stage, more than likely when you were younger and now you have learnt to hate them.
The real truth is that bikes are certainly not for kids and by riding one you are helping the environment and there are going to be more and more of them on the road soon.
Get on those racing bikes and get riding!
