When you’re the one dealing with it, bedwetting children, can seem like a battle that will never be won.  You’ve tried everything and you’re out of ideas.  Many relate, and if you’re one of them, remember there’s hope. When it comes to bedwetting children, there are many factors involved and that need to be considered.  A child’s medial health and wellness should be evaluated by a professional, changes should be made in the diet and in the home routine, all coupled with unwavering patience as a parent.  Nobody said it was easy… but  Shannon Miller has a method that actually helps.

The reality is that, provided there is no underlying medical reason, bedwetting children simply seem to grow out of it.  One day they will wake up, realized they made it through the night without incident and it’s over.  I wish I could provide an explanation for bedwetting children that simply stop being bedwetting children, but I cannot! Since I work with many families, I have heard story after story about bedwetting children.  The factors I mentioned above, including lifestyle changes, are usually part of those stories.  It is also important to note the parent’s attitude during this process really affects bedwetting children.

If you haven’t considered it already, understand bedwetting children want to stop as much as their parents want them to.  Putting a child down or punishing them will never work and will make you, as a parent, feel even worse.

In the end, you need to have hope and you should, because bedwetting children do not turn into bedwetting adults!  It will take time, patience and perseverance and, during that time, hope may be all there is that gets you through another night, another load of bedding, and another smile when you tell your child “it’s okay”.  Before you know it, this will be over and you’ll be on to the next parental challenge!
